Whether your dog is a nervous first timer, a playful puppy, or a long haired companion in need of a professional groom, our experienced dog groomers are here to make every visit stress free and enjoyable.
Here, you'll find answers to our most commonly asked questions about dog grooming, dog baths, and coat care.
1
How long does a groom take at our dog grooming salon?
Most full grooms at our salon based dog groomers can take around 1.5-2 hours. Puppies, nervous dogs, or dogs with thick or matted coats can take longer. We always prioritise your dogs comfort and safety during every grooming session.
I offer several different grooming service options to suit every type of dog which can be found on my book online page.
2
Do you help nervous or aggressive dogs?
Yes - our experienced dog groomers keep the environment calm and use gentle handling to keep their experience as stress free as possible. Many nervous dogs leave wagging their tails after their first visit.
All we ask is that any dogs that have a bite history, or are likely to bite - please ensure your dog attends their appointment wearing an appropriate bite-proof muzzle (not fabric).
I offer a specific nervous and aggressive dog grooming service, for both full grooms, and nail trims which allows extra time.
3
Matted coats and professional coat care
If your dogs coat is matted, we handle it with care. Sometimes this means clipping shorter to remove knots safely. This is also explained in our Terms & Conditions.
4
Dog shampoos and grooming products
We use only high quality, gentle shampoos and conditioners suitable for all dogs, including those with sensitive skin or allergies. Every dog bath and grooming session is designed to maintain a healthy coat and skin.
5
How often should my dog be groomed?
Most breeds benefit from grooming every 4-8 weeks to keep their coat healthy and tangle free. We can help you set up a regular dog grooming schedule tailored to your dogs breed, coat type and lifestyle.
I offer a k9 cuts and struts club membership, which allows you to book all your appointments in advance at a time and day that suits you. You also get 8 grooms for the price of 7 if you sign up.
6
Rebooking and regular appointments
Many clients book ahead to maintain their dogs coat and make grooming easier for nervous or long haired dogs. At k9 cuts and struts, we make professional dog grooming in Bramley and Mortimer easy, stress free and enjoyable.
